What is Net Metering

How It Works

Grid-tie inverter systems convert a direct current (DC) energy source (such as photovoltaic power) into an alternating current (AC). The inverter sends the power back to the utility grid. In many cases the electrical generation will be used as it is instantly produced. However, when the home or business is vacant and energy use is low, the excess power may be sent (i.e. your energy meter spins "backwards") back to the utility company and ultimately credits your energy bill. This method of exchanging power bi-directionally is called net metering and is increasingly becoming acceptable worldwide. Be sure to contact your utility company about their co-generation requirements.

At Enviro-Energy Technologies Inc., our experienced energy engineers will help you determine a customized solar and/or wind system that is best suited to your specific needs. We provide full services including assessment, system design, drawings, obtaining electrical safety approvals and inspections, and installation. Your first step would be to fill out our Questionnaire and contact us via e-mail or telephone.
