Solar hot air heating The homeowners are living off-grid in a new house on an organic farm located in Picton, Ontario. Enviro-Energy designed this off-grid hybrid system including solar hot air heating. This system allows the homeowners to live comfortably with all their essential electrical appliances without paying any hydro bills. As the homeowners feel that living off-grid lets them feel "... more connected to nature and the environment". The homeowners also operate a bed and breakfast. Grid-Tie Wind Turbine System Grid-tire solar PV and wind turbine system The homeowners from Woodstock, Ontario wanted to cut down their energy cost. Enviro-Energy designed this grid-tie wind turbine system. It allows the homeowners to generate clean and free energy to supplement their daily usage and also to feed back unused power into the grid. In spring 2005, the homeowners expanded their renewable energy system to include 8 solar PV panels providing additional 1.32 kWp. |

Grid-Tie Solar PV System (with batteries) Roof-mounted solar PV modules with backup batteries The homeowners are living in a new custom-built house in Penatanguishene, Ontario. Enviro-Energy designed this grid-tie solar PV system generating 740 Wp of power. This system allows the homeowners to supplement their power usage and to run their hydro meter backwards when the system is generating more then being used. With the backup batteries, the homeowners would never have to worry in case of power outages. |
